( Pics below. ) Interestingly, the lovely fandom folks of Real Person tv shows (primarily the 2nd half of the poll) are of a higher age group-- and have widely different reasonings for almost everything as opposed to the anime fans (the 1st half)...do you think it's their ages that change the answers, or their interests? Also, this time around, more people went into interesting discussion-- rather than just leaving the poll be, we started chatting about the various good points of show/book X, and other readers of the posts took the conversation to amazing tangents-- much fun. So, viewers..do these results interest you? So, wha'cha think? |

Gender and Age: Participation Rating:  Aspects Participated in:  Het and Yaoi: Note: the second question was added in late.  Actually, not all that many people responded with text in the boxes...the survey host seems to have repeated some of the answers for "where are you from" and "why fandom" in the het/slash "why" questions...I only got around 30-40 "other" responses for both of those...interesting, hm? Why Fandom:  Why yaoi or het:  Why not:  Preferred Rating of Fan-things:  Thank you all for participating. So, now that we all know this-- anyone want to analyze the results? What does this all mean for fandom? Is our interest in characters over gender (a common response for "why" a person prefers a het/slash) mirroring our peer group's open-mindedness to queer persons, or are we the odd-balls out in society (i.e. people still care what sex their significant other should be)? |

Hello, everyone! I'm conducting some research for my term paper-- please help me? It shouldn't take too long, and you needn't reply to every question. I survived midterms! Yay. ..........I'm so bored................. It's time to start updating my fic recs or something. Anyways, life has been....the same old, I guess. I've switched to a ovo-vegetarian diet (as opposed to lacto-ovo-vegetarian diet), as milk has been giving me problems. Yeah. One more thing I can't eat. T_T (i~ce~cream~~~~~~~!!!!! T_T) U~m. I went to boring-ass conference this weekend...it sucked. (Haha, I bet all of you are now thinking I'm older than I am now...hahaahaa. Let's just say I was the youngest person there). boredboredbored. |

So. Three hospitalizations, 15 pounds, a surgery and a as&*df@$ of money later, the doctors think I have an autoimmune disorder. Or something. Some sort of genetic disorder that means the rest of my life will be very different. Except maybe I'll feel better (finally!! Three months of severe abdominal pain, nausea, vomiting, etc etc sucks so bad). So. Let's just hope it's curable. Or maintainable. ...or something. |

Since I don't really post much about Naruto... I don't remember why I first started watching Naruto, or why I like Naruto at all... I like Sasuke. I think I have a fic rec a post down, so please look there to see examples of the fiction I like. As for art, I like all sorts of things. I adore crisp lines. I love black, and how ink can be used to do SO many different affects...like in doujinshi. I adore hissatsu cyclone-- webpage is here. Great artist. They have a lot of work under the gallery section for some examples. Story-telling peice. zejeni "will you stay" on deviantArt. I like this peice because of the lovely, soft coloring. I also adore that there's some MOVEMENT in this picture...the figures arent' just staring at the camera, they've got their arms moving. It's easy to come up with a story going along with their motions. Cute style: k-tiraam "Morning" on deviantArt. I like this picture for a lot of reasons...mostly 'cause it's adorable. Sooo cute. Also, the lines are nice and crisp! And the coloring is smooth and wonderful...no inconsistencies. Also, besides being adorable, this picture has a background. Backgrounds are almost always necessary for a good picture! And this one is pretty good-- it doesn't distract from the figure in the foreground. CG type picture: iizzard "Gold" on deviantArt I like this picture for the lush colors in it. :) Love the expression of this piece-- not only does his face show expression, but his fingers do too. Also, this artist pays a lot of attention to lighting and shadows! It looks good. Drawing with traditional methods: taes "self portrait: oil pastel" on deviantArt. Yes, some people still use real paper and other medians. ^^Lovely, lovely use of oil pastels. I like how there are portions scraped away to accentuate the blue paper underneath. Lots of detail in this picture, and a lot of expression. I like the colors, too-- this helps make it so expressive. Lots of good technique here. done in paint: Barlee "sasuke for Pallid" on deviant art Yes, a good picture can be achieved even without photoshop. :) This is a good example of that-- there are lots of tones and values in this picture. Nice highlights and shadows. And again, it's not just a "sit and stare in front of me" picture, either. Sasuke-dear is leaning, and reaching out. Very nice. :) |
